Importing a project into another project
I’ve been searching the internet for a while now and i’ve sifted through the forums to find a solution to my problem, but I can’t seem to resolve it!
Basically, i’ve read that it’s possible to import a project (with all it’s layers, keyframes, cameras, effects etc) into another project, so basically combining the two.
The problem i’m having is that when I try this, the project I am importing has no keyframes or cameras etc. It only has the layers.
Am I supposed to be dragging the project file that I have imported onto the composition or something different? I’m feeling a bit lost and confused!

Yes, i’m importing the file via File>Import file into an already open project, double clicking the project file I want to import. And yes it comes into the Project window as a File.
When I open the file, I can see all the layers from that project – except for cameras and lights. I’ve tried dragging the contents of that file onto the composition, but it has none of the effects when I look at it on the timeline. I’m fairly new to AE so forgive me if i’m missing something completely simple 🙂
