I was given a DVD which had .WAV files from a field shoot that used 4 channels of audio. I try to import the files stright from the CD but Avid said it doesn’t support the channels. I am not sure how the files were recorded or if they were mixed down to one channel. Either way Avid doesn’t seem to want to import it. Any thoughts?

And unfortunately the computer is a Meridian and on OS9

P.S. It plays in quicktime as one channel but there is a track of just nooise so I thought it might be multiple tracks so I can take out certain channels when I want to. Getting audio this way is new to me so I thought I would ask.

    Thanks

Can the filenames be an issue?
WAV files should import just fine, whether they be monophonic or polyphonic.

It’s labeled 001_1 001_2 and so on. I will try re-naming it just in case when I get into work but the error said a channel error so I wasn’t sure if it was a setting or something. Thanks
