Importing
I have a film I previously made all on DVD, unfortunatly I lost all the original files I used to make it.
How do I re import the film from DVD into final cut pro so that I can re work it,ie add effects filters etc

YOu can use MPEG STREAMCLIP to convert it from DVD to an editable format, but it will in no way be anywhere near the quality you started with. It will be highly compressed…because from source to DVD compression to whatever you will edit it as…that is pretty compressed.

Do you know if people need quicktime plugins to use MPEG Streamclip properly?
For instance MPEG Stream works fine for my Mac, where I’ve got QT Pro and MPEG 2 purchased add-ons.
Although it doesn’t seem to work on my PC – it said I needed MPEG 2 QT add on. Maybe that’s just a PC vs. Mac thing?

MPEG2 is not played natively by Windows Media Player without an add-on, but it is native to QT and QT Pro. So, as you guessed, Streamclip does the whole enchalada on Apple Machines, but not on Windows unless a plugin is added.

Not on a Mac. Works fine on all the ones I have.
