Hello to all… I am not new to FCP but i have never had this happen before. I just bought a Canon XL2, taped a wedding this past weekend, I am importing the footage and the import is going over the footage 3 times before it moves on to the next clip to import. Now I know that if there is a problem the first time FCP will leave a little (-1) or something like that to show it had a problem. But I have never had this go over a clip 3 times before and not let me know. I have been testing the camera and had the quick set up at the 24p. I taped at 60i 4:3 and I have it importing at the regular NTSC Firewire basic. So any idea’s?

    Thanks in advance,
    Chuck

Sounds like timecode breaks. Did you set the date and time on your camera? If not, do it.

Steve I did set the time and date…I have used the 24p and that has imported great, this just kept on going over the same stuff again and again. I stopped the batch capture and skipped one of the clips, then imported the rest and i guess it worked. But then I went back to the one i skipped and it imported fine. Kinda crazy, hopefully i’ll figure it out. Any more advise would be great.

    Thanks for the help
    Chuck
