    Hi-
We’re in the middle of importing 24p footage into FCP using the DVX, and we’ve encountered a firewire malfunction (we’ve read posts about this and the 6 week repair time estimate). We’re pressed for time with this project; is it possible to import footage using a 60i camera without a major loss in quality? In playing back using the 60i, the footage looks the same… we’d appreciate any input about this!

    Thanks-
    Erika

You won’t have an issue. Bytes is bytes. Info already put to tape will play as info already put to tape in ANY camera. FW just takes the 0 and 1s off the tape.

Just capture normal and you won’t have any issue. It will have the 3.2.3.2 pulldown regardless of the deck you use.

    Good luck,
