    Hi guys,

I have been given a mini disc with 26 minutes of footage to compile a movie with. The disc plays fine in windows media player, however, it has approximately 60 individual titles as opposed to one continuous move.
When I import the movie onto the timeline in Vegas Platinum it jumps from scene to scene and then back to the beginning and I can not get it to play normally on the timeline or trimmer. I have no idea what I am doing as the instructions in the box are pretty basic. Any ideas please?

    Regards

    Ryan

Did you import it using the File – Import – DVD Camcorder disc option?
If you did, what you’re seeing is no different than capturing from a tape where the user recorded several different scenes.
Each scene is imported as a separate clip which, IMO, makes editing much easier as you don’t need to constantly split things up and drag them around.

I used the media generator and then imported from my cd drive. I don`t have the cancorder-just the mini DVD which was given to me. When I tried to import using the capture from device option I had no device attached for it to work,

Since your footage is on a miniDVD, you can simply copy the footage to your hard drive (e.g. with windows explorer) and from there drag it onto the timeline of Vegas.
