  • Imported SRT file timing correct in SRT file, not in Vegas timeline

So I manually put together an srt file using the frame counter in vegas. double and triple checked all the timings to make sure they were correct in the file and they were. Import the file andddd, every subtitle’s timing was off. For example, the first line of subtitle should start at 00:00:00,09, which is how it is written in the srt, but instead on the timeline imports to 00:00:00,02. I thought it was just a simple delay that could be remedied by checking auto ripple and moving the whole sub track over, but nope! When I moved the sub track over I found that not only did the file not import to the correct spot, the files aren’t even the correct length of time. The first subtitle that I moved to the correct starting point on the timeline should end at 00:00:05,00. instead, even when adjusting for the initial starting delay, the file ends at 00:00:05,06. Which again, is not how it is written in the srt. any idea why vegas is ignoring how the srt is written?
