    Hi

Here’s he deal: I ripped footage off a DVD using MAC THE RIPPER. Then I imported it into MPEG STREAMCLIP and exported a hi res quicktime movie to the desktop. The movie quality at this point is very good.

This is when the problem occurs: I import the file into FCP (v.3) and it appears stretched and the quality looks so-so….the settings/pref are set to DVD NTSC 720 x 480 & everything seems up to snuff….

ANyone know what the problem could be? Did I leave enough info?

    thanks

Double click on your file in the timeline so that it loads into the viewer. Click the Motion tab and then click the Distort section. You may have to reset the aspect ratio to 0, or if it’s on 0 you’ll have to adjust the slider so that it appears correct. Don’t know why FCP does this when importing files, but it’s happened to me too.
