imported p2 footage has “artifacts”
What’s happening is that we are shooting video using a p2 card. When played back in a p2 player or when playing back in the file and transfer window of FCP, the video plays back with no issues. However, once I complete the transfer and it adds the video to my bin in FCP, there are frames in the video that have artifacts in it. It will show up usually two or three times in the footage once we transfer it. You can see a screenshot below of what I’m talking about. Any ideas as to what this could be and how to correct it?

Normally this is in the file, happened during recording. This is a digital glitch between the camera and card. Or maybe between the transfer from the card to the HD. You can use P2CMS to look at the card content. If the files are still on the card.

Offload the media from the P2 card to a hard drive first, then log and transfer. Don’t log and transfer right from the card.
