  Imported Illustrator file lost some layers ?

  I illustarted a figure in Illustrator CS, with each body part in a separate layer.
  The texture was some gradients.

  When I imported the .ai file to After Effects, some of the layers are missing.
  I get them as a layer in my new comp but the layer doesn’t have the EYE sign or any transform properties.

  anyone stumbled accross this before ?
