  • Imported alembic selection/ textures?

I have an imported alembic animated object that had multiple UV textures attached in the original. The imported alembic file seems to remember the selected areas where the various textures should go–double-click of the “face” tag highlights the “face” area in blue, for example. Dragging the texture onto the figure places the texture in the proper place, but it also places it in all the wrong places over the entire mesh as well. Does anybody know a way to get a texture to limit itself based on these existing tags? I tried making the alembic object “editable” to see the mesh, but that deleted the animation.

haven’t had the opportunity to import an alembic with selections but exporting alembic from C4D with a selection (Bake as Alembic) and adding materials to that using the alembic poly selection tag like normal works to limit it to the selection

Okay, thanks! I’ll look into it.
