I have a CF card with a BPAV folder that contains footage shot with a Sony XDCAM EX-3 camera that I am trying to import into FCP. The delivery format will be HDV (on tape) The BPAV folder contains two subfolders (CLPR and TAKR) and 2 files CUEUP.XML and MEDIAPRO.XML.
    1. What easy setup should i choose (I am used to edit HDV in Apple ProRes 422 but does it work with XDCAM?)
    2. How do I actually import the clip? When I import HDV files using the Log and Transfer mode, the files from the CF card show up automatically in the Log and Transfer window, here nothing shows up although the CF card is connected thru a USB card reader.
Thank you for putting me on the right track.

Checkout this thread. And Shane’s tutorial about tapeless workflow will also help.

Thank you. I just found out that I was trying to choose a file within the BPAV folder, when I actually had to dump the whole BPAV folder into the Log and Transfer window. I appreciate your help.
