    Hello all,

Question… We ingested 5d/7d footage two ways. One way was link to AMA and then choose the CONSOLIDATE/TRANSCODE option and transcode that way. The other way was FILE — IMPORT the raw clips. When we did this we noticed a noticeable color space change between each method of ingestion. This was on Avid ver 5. Does the same thing happen on ver 6? Which is the correct ingestion method?
Oh, we transcoded to DNX 220X in both methods.

    Thanks!

    Correct way is AMA>Transcode.

    Not in my opinion.
AMA gives me clipping on both blacks and whites, where import with RGB source selected does not.
It might be a version issue.

So i would suggest, pick the one that gives you the best levels to your liking.

It’s definitely a version issue, as the levels are decidedly different in. V6.x with 5D/7D footage.

6 is more to my liking with both AMA and import.

Yes, and I escalated that. Levels should be the same either way (with the same settings that is).

Level are not untouched, though, with H264 sources…
