I’m importing an .avi that I rendered out of AE. It rendered lossless and the file looks good in an outside player.

When I bring the file into Premiere, it gets very pixley and looks compressed. Premiere is set to ‘Highest Quality’ and I and a few others on the AE forum are stumped. I’ve tried pulling the comp directly from AE and there’s no change. Any suggestions?

Is this psrt of a previous post, so that we don’t go through the same questions?

Could you post details about your settings?

First, check that it is interpreted correctly in the project panel.

What PAR is your comp in AE ?

What does the export from Premiere look like?

Here’s what it looks like in AE-

Here it is when it gets to Premiere-

First, your program panel in Premiere is set to 150%, and the one in AE to 200% so it’s hard to judge since that always create pixelation.

I don’t know the settings you are using in AE, but try setting the interpret setting PAR to 1.0 for this clip in Premiere, since that’s what it should be if you are working with a default AE setting.

Oh sorry about that, it’s a little tough to tell by the pictures. Once it goes to big screen, it looks like junk.

How do I change the PAR in Premiere?

Right click on the clip, and select interpret footage.

Thought it worked but now it’s gone back to looking like crud. I’m completely stumped now.

I tried re-doing the project in an hd format, thinking maybe that would help, but have seen the same results.

    Frustrating…

depending on what you do to change the format you’re editing in…the pixel aspect interpretation will need to be different.
