    Import sees HD as a camera

    I am trying to import some footage into FCPX from an external USB 3 portable Toshiba HD. Final Cut sees this as a camera – not as an HD. Other drives on my Mac are recognized as HD’s. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to resolve this issue?

    This is usually the result of a folder at the root of your drive that FCPX is mistaking for the folder structure of a camera card. Something like CLIPS or VIDEO or something. Check to make sure your folder structure doesn’t have anything like that at the root.
