  • Import problem – “insufficient disk space”

Posted by Sverker Hahn on March 13, 2008 at 2:17 pm

When I try to import clips to FCP with XDCAM Transfer 2.1.0 I have gotten the message “There is insufficient disk space to import the selected clips” a few times.

But now I get it every time I try to import my clips.

    How come?

My scratch disk setting in FCP is a FW disk with 600 GB free.

    Hi Sverker,

I was just wondering how you resolved this problem. I’m encountering the same problem. I have a short term fix by importing long files into shorter clips but I’m interested in a better resolution.

When you have a minute, let me know.

    Cheers,

    Colin

I encountered the same error message. I did not find any setting in the Preferences window that fixed the problem.

Instead, I had to manually set the in/out points to the beginning/end of the clip and then Import. It worked after manually setting the in/out points.

This happened on a clip that spanned two cards where the first half on the first card gave this error message.

    Thanks,
    Tony
