I’m trying to import a layered vector based Illustrator file into motion.
When I do it always merges the layers. I’ve tried converting to pdf, but get the same results. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

I don’t use illustrator, but to import a layered Photoshop file you need to use, from the menu, “File” -> “Import” then select the file you want. You are then prompted for “merged layers” or “all layers” choices.

    Good luck!

    Howdy,

Illustrator files are imported as a merged PDF. It’s all vector data, so it can be dynamically rasterized, but it’s merged, so no layers.
