Import HVX200 in Final Cut Pro 7 doesn’t work: Unknown Error
Hi,
I use my HVX200 a lot and never had problems. Normally I use my camera as p2 card reader and import the files via Log and Transfer. Now I did the same. The Log and Transfer window recognizes my clips, they are all there in the queue. It starts rendering all the files, but file per file, they all give ERROR with a red stop-sign at ‘status’. When I click on it, it says: “Error Unknown.”I am very sad. Would you help me, guys?

Try backing up the files off the card first, then importing. Keep the full card structure, and don’t name the folder anything with a strange symbol…!@#$$%^&*()

Hi Shane, I’ve made a disk image of all the files on the card and then imported these files into the Log and Transfer window. The files were recognized and I could play them in the viewer. I tried importing them with default names (the names Panasonic gives to the files.) Afterwards I get the same: no imported clips and Error: Unknown.
What do you mean exactly with ‘keep the full card structure’? -
Full card structure means that you don’t just copy some of the files off the camera, but ALL of the files, and keep it in the same structure as it exists on the camera. You did a Disk Image, so that will do it.
How about going into the Preferences of Log and Transfer (the sprocket drop down menu) and unchecking REMOVE PULLDOWN? Try that.

OK. Yes, I already tried that, the remove pulldown. Didn’t work either.

Hi Shane and the rest, I tried to import the files onto another hard disc – and it worked! Apparently there is something wrong with my hard disc, however it works fine. So, now you know it is (more or less) fixed.
