Hello there, I have a TZ7 wich I use to record video. I would like to know what gives the highest quality: Log & Transfer to Prores 422 directly from the memory card (with directory structure intact) or just drag and drop the .mov files? (Yes, I know I should not use H264).
    Thanks alot,
    Phil Huizen

Your quality settings come from the camera when you record.
    L&T does not set quality.

Check out Shane’s Tapeless Workflow Tutorial here on the cow.

Copy your SD card in its entirety to the local hard drive. Back it up.
L&T into the edit using ProRes 422.
    Edit.

    Hey Shane,

Have you kept track of how many times you’ve pasted this link?
Perhaps you’ve written a keyboard shortcut for it by now…

    All the best man…

What is the use then of the files and directorys on the card when the quality is not touched when only copying the .mov’s?

The structure is important, for example, if you want to relink to the original files.
Your camera files has no native TC; for all Media Managing is better to work with the original file structure.
