I have a dozen DV tapes and would like to pick bits and pieces of each tape and combined it on one DVD disk. Should I capture all DV tapes into one timeline and edit from there. I did purchase a 500Gig hard drive for this purpose and many other projects. Or should I built shorter timelines and work from there. In addition I would like to import WAV files and my question is can I modify a WAV file to play on a surround sound system. In other words convert a stereo file to 5.1.
    Thanks

Why don’tou do a batch capture for each tape. Mark in and out points as you watch the tape and decide what sections you want to use. Basically you are making an EDL. then tell Vegas to batch capture and go have a beer.
You can capture a wave file and then arange what parts you would like to go where front, rear, etc. So the answewr is yes. These answers are based of full Vegas not Studio. Don’t know about Studio.
