    Hi all,
Here’s my problem, my boss is out of town and took the camera with him to scout locations. I, in the meantime, need to import some footage. (I know, we need a deck.)
We have a Canon MV850i e consumer miniDV camcorder that I’m trying to use now. I can get it to playback using the capture controls in FCP 5, but no image, sound or TC. The system works fine with our Panaonic cameras. I’ve checked the Canon and the only video interface option is “AV-DV on or off.” Neither setting changes anything.
I’m just wondering if the camcorder is causing problems or if there’s some preference I can change in FCP, I’ve checked all the settings, but no luck.
    Thanks in advance,

If you do a more extensive search on the Cow of this topic than I just did, you can find many people out there who have had this same problem including myself. I am willing to bet this is the issue

Make sure you re-sintall quicktime, even if you think you have the most up to date version, that one got me too. good luck.
