We’re having some trouble with 32fps footage shot on the HVX200 and imported
    via the P2 Log application.

The footage was shot at 720P/25PN in Film Mode with a frame rate of 32fps.
However all the footage we’ve imported into final cut via P2 is coming up as
50fps – and the footage has a number of dead or double frames.

We’ve been trying to narrow down at what stage in the process the problem
has been introduced or something was done wrong and i just cant figure it out.

I’ve been reading manuals and support forums for hours.

Does anyone have any advice or answers for such a problem?

    Many Thanks for any support.

Then the footage was not shot as PN, but as plain old P and sorry but there are just not a lot of tools to handle the removal of the redundant frames in a 25 /50 workflow from P.

Mac or PC… at least on the PC side you might be able to handle the frames with Raylight but on the FCP side you kinda out of luck.

    Thanks for the reply.

i didn’t shoot this footage myself, i’m doing post on it. I’m still trying to get hold of the DP to double check what he filmed it as, but i checked the camera settings which havent been touched since the end of the shoot and its still set to PN.

But i take your word for it – i’m not very familiar with the PN setting but thats how i arrived at my conclusion.

I’m just looking at the Raylight codec now though it doesnt seem clear how it will help getting rid of redundant frames. Can you giv em e an indication of how you think Raylight might handle the frames?

    Thanks for the comments.

Raylight’s RayMaker program converts MXF files into .AVI files. When doing so it will (optionally) strip out duplicate frames.
