  • Import EPS to Extrude – How to ?

Posted by Ace Billet on May 22, 2005 at 1:30 pm

Im importing an EPS to be extruded.
When I open the file it opens in a new C4D file,
I extrude it fine but when I copy the new object to my scene (in another C4D file)
I don’t see the new object, only the “move” axis.

is it too big ? i tried to look above, sides etc. but can’t seem to find it !

    cheers

Well, it was just waaaaay offside. Didn’t figure out why.
One more thing – is it better to reduce the size of the EPS in C4D, or bring in a small file ?
    I mena, render-wise, does it make a different ?

I think it uses the origin point of the eps, which is the page origin of Illustrator/Freehand (or whatever) of the program that made the eps – try and get it close to the page origin (if you are making it or can ask) and it should arrive closer to the C4D world origin

I don’t think it makes a difference. Vectors are always scalable anywhere. Only the number of points, the spline type and intermediate points should make a rendering time difference.
