Import an Avid project into Final Cut

It can be done…but it is tricky.

First, get Sebsky’s Tools (free) from here:

This will help get the bins over. But the timeline might require an EDL. If there are any Avid effects on it, they won’t transfer. If the EDL doesn’t work, then look into Automatic Duck Pro Import

Then there is the media. You MIGHT be able to work with it as is, but most likely you’ll have to recapture. You can try to download the Avid codecs from the Avid site and see if they will work. But most likely you’ll have to recapture.
