  • Import 720p24 clips from hard drive copied from firestore

Posted by Daryl K davis on June 6, 2006 at 3:38 am

I just received a firewire drive with files that were copied from footage shot and captured onto a firestore drive. It appears they simply copied the files over and sent to me for editing.

When I go to import P2 and select (+) the firewire drive and I can see the various folders of clips from the different days they shot. I am wondering just what am I supposed to import.

Within the folder there are the following folders:
AUDIO, CLIP, ICON, PROXY, VIDEO, VOICE

So far nothing seems to be importing as I keep getting the message: Selected path does not contain a P2 volume.

Could there have been an error in how they copied the files over?

Is there a specific way I should be doing this?

    Thanks so much.

Name that folder CONTENTS and you should be good to go. Try it and see. That worked for another fellow not to long ago.

Could it be a problem that this firewire drive is formatted with MS-DOS File System?

Got it. Yes the folders have to be named CONTENTS. I just renamed them and all is well.

    Thanks Shane
