    Hi All:

I have made 146 LTO tapes with the same mTape and PreRoll Post over a few years and for some reason now I can only see the last 53 tapes (93-146). I am now trying to retrieve from tape 77 but because it’s not in the database it can’t find it. I also tried to mount the tape with the mTape LTFS Utility with no success, as well as renaming a drive with no luck either. Retrieving older databases did not work either, it seems it always loads the same one, or I might be doing something wrong?

Anything else I can try while I wait for Imagine Products to get back to me?

    Thanks a lot!

One question, are these groups of LTO Tapes part of a RAID or something? Where you are trying to allocate all 146 Tapes like if they are part of a RAID where one backups another incase any single point of failure happens? Hope to hear from you soon!

    Hi Victor:

No, they are not part of a RAID each tape is an individual LTO tape.

    Thanks,

    Alex

I had this issue many years ago. But that was with just a handful of tapes. I had written to Imagine then, and they sent a new build which helped me retrieve those tapes.

But it was too scary. So, after retrieving the tapes I switched to YoYotta and more recently to Canister and their backups are more reliable.

I am in contact wit Imagine products, I hope they can help me. I am looking for other options since they no longer support their mac version.
