Images flying onto a 3D wall
Hello,
I’m trying to slice up an image to multiple rectangular pieces, and those pieces would fly into a 3d wall to complete the final image. I found this tutorial on the net and I was wondering if anyone by any chance was able to complete it:

I’d appreciate if someone could translate that from english to english OR if someone might know a better tutorial, I’d appreciate it.

He’s using the Card Wipe effect to move the rectangular pieces around. That should point you in the right direction. You can control the z-depth of the pieces based on another layer i.e., a precomp with a layer of fractal noise.
The first step, he’s telling you to build the multiple screens in photoshop. Make sure they’re all the same size etc.
Then use block dissolve and make sure to have it set so that the blocks are the same size as your pieces.
Precomp that and set up your camera in a way you like.
Apply card wipe to the precomp. Making sure the number of cards matches your number of pieces.
That’s kinda the basics of what he was saying, the rest is just tweaking to get it to look good.
