I’ve searched for an answer to this, and what I found seems to be out of date.

I have a Fusion composition with an ImagePlane, on which I’ve loaded a PNG of a person with the background transparent, so it’s just the person. When I place it in front of another object (I used a 3D Shape for testing), and add a point light, and use a hardware renderer, I get a shadow, but it’s a shadow of the entire plane, ignoring the alpha of the image. If I use a software renderer, there’s no shadow at all.

How do I get a shadow of the person?

    Thanks for any help!
And a side question – how does one search in a specific forum on Creative Cow? You used to be able to do that – now it seems like you can only search the entire forums space, which gives too many false positives.
