Imagine a puzzle with 1400 pieces, but they are all square pieces, equal in size. Because this is a puzzle, there is no overlapping image information from one piece to another. The edges from one piece to another are very similar, as you could imagine.

This is the challenge I have and I’d rather not piece them together manually. Each piece is an image file with a random name not having anything to do with it’s place in this “puzzle”.

I have tried using Photoshop Photo Merge and Autopano-Sift, but they don’t seem to do the job, likely because there is no overlapping information from image to image. Just similar edges.

Is there anyway to do this automatically? Should these programs be working?

    No overlap…. no help….

You can’t really expect an unintelligent device to do magic….

    Sorry
