  • Image shifts when apply dissolve

Posted by Jamie Mac on November 19, 2005 at 1:35 pm

When a apply a dissolve to black (fade to black) the image in the canvas shifts to the left with the same image coming in from the right, as if it were pushing it out of the way. When i render everything is fine and it goes back to normal. Very strange, any ideas would gratefully recieved. Cheers

It’s hard to tell without looking over your shoulder but the Canvas only shows a limited number of processed pixels. It’s likely just an artifact of your machine’s real time capabilities and the size of the Canvas window. If the coordinates of the clips do not actually shift and the render is okay, I’d have to say you have nothing to worry about. Try changing your effects handling and rendering from whatever you’ve got to Faster (linear).

Problem solved thanks to a chap on another forum. The original file was corrupt. A re-capture solved the problem. Hope this helps others with same problem.
