Image Sequence exporting: 23.98 to 24 FPS
Hello,
I’ve finished a timeline edit of a number of sequences in FCP, and am now exporting them to image sequences for VFX to work on; however I know that I ingested the clips at 23.98, the sequence settings were at 23.98, but when I select Image Sequence for exporting, the closest option I get is 24 FPS.
How will this effect my sequences? Am I going to get black frames in my sequence?
Thus far I haven’t seen any difference, but I’d like to know what to expect, or if I need to re-export my sequences with something else.
When I take the VFX clips back, should I just create new timelines with 24 FPS settings?

Afaik, exporting to images has nothing to do with framerate. You just get an image for each frame.
Only thing that can matter is DPX timecode. But the playback speed is up to the playback device.
(when image sequences where invented there was no machine fast enough to actually play them back…)So pick 24, you’ll be fine. Stay in 23.976 on import, or you’ll loose sync with your sound.
If you have to go to 24 for film out, make that your very last step.Bouke
