    Hey everyone,

Getting some strange lifting and/or crushing when exporting image sequences (tiff or cineon) from FCP for use in Nuke and AE. Edit lives in FCP right now, captured 422 HQ from Alexa. I’m on Nuke, another guy here is on AE so I wanted to kick out different sections of the sequence (high precision YUV) for each of us to work in, round trip back into FCP (by writing out QT from both AE and Nuke)

We wrote files out and brought them right back into our respective apps, differenced them and they were exactly the same. When we brought the QTs back in FCP, they were either lifted or crushed…not much, but enough to make a difference. We thought it was originally 16-235 problems, but that wasn’t it either.

I can’t imagine we are the first people to need a workflow to send shots from FCP to either AE or Nuke. I know of Automatic Duck but I don’t need to send an entire sequence, just a handful of frames here and there and also to Nuke.

Thanks for reading, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Best,
    Craig

What kind of QT file are you rendering from Nuke?

Also, I would not use FCP to make image sequences. Qt conversion fails miserably here.
