  • Image quality on 24″ dell and HDV

Ok, I got my picture going on my Dell from a HDLink. Using Decklink pro card in a Dual 2.7 gig mac. I’m shooting in HDV and using the dell to monitor the footage. I’m using the native apple codec captured from a sony z1. The image I’m seeing is extremely interlaced and the titles look soft. When I connect the dell to my radeon 9600 card via DVI I see the image without all the issues. Output to tape and it looks great.

Will the interlace and titles problem go away if I use the blackmagic codecs? This will require me to get an array instead of using my internal sata drive and I need to know if its worth the money spent.

    Thanx,

    Kevin

I shoot progressive only with my jvc hd100u and it looks fantastic
as captured HDV footage on my dell 24″ lcd.

I have the same setup but I have a multibridge extreme.

Its obvious I’m doing something wrong in my set up. I’m at the end of a project and this was probably not the time for new equipment. I’m not seeing full screen on my dell but only a small image with a black 4″ border around the image.

Maybe the monitoring setup does not match the sequence?

I remember having to change setup when going from an HD sequence to a SD sequence. Otherwise, I got no picture at all.
