I have 2 .png images that are the same resolution- one is to be used a mask for the other. When I lay them on top of each other in the timeline, they line up perfectly, however, if i add an Image Mask filter to the first image, then drag the second in as the source image for the mask, the sizing changes and they no longer line up.

    Why is this happening?

    Thanks!

it might be that X looks at the project resolution and expects a matte and fill to be the same resolution when doing a Mask Filter. i know that Premiere gets weird doing this so i will place my matte and fill where i want them to be on the screen and then make a full rez still of each at my project resolution and it works.

Typically you end up needing to use a compound clip to get these kinds of compositions to work correctly.
