  • Image is slightly smaller on export…

    I’m working with 24p footage from a DVX100a. My timeline is 29.97 and my clip is interpreted as 720 x 480 (0.90)

When I go to export my movie as a Quicktime file, I use the export setting:

    File > Export > As Quicktime Movie > Setting DV/DVCPRO – NTSC

When I open my new exported file in QT, or FCP, there is a thin border on either side of the image – the image is not filled out to the edges. Why is my new file slightly smaller than the original?

My other question is should I be exporting with a Progressive Scan mode, since my footage was progressive to begin with? The default is set to Interlaced.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
