image buffer error
I have been using a G5 for a long time and never had a problem in AE 7. I just got a Dell XPS 720 workstation and I am getting the “could not create 720 x 480 image buffer” error during all my renders. I have 4 gb of RAM with 2.5 GB being shown, (I was told my dual video card and other system devices are using 1.5 gb).
I have been searching this forum and other sites for days trying to resolve this problem.
I have selected the purge every _ frames and tried putting 5, 10, 50. Doesn’t fix it. I have lowered the cache size like has been suggested. I’ve purged the undos. I don’t know what else to do. I have checked my system monitor and the RAM usage increases throughout the render and once it gets to 2.4 GB, I get the error message. However, on my G5, the RAM usage does not go over 1.4 GB or so, so I’m wondering why it doesn’t level off on the PC?
It’s pretty distressing because this is only an 8 second 720×480 clip, so its not big at all.
Any suggestions and help is appreciated.
