I hope no-one will shout at me for trying to use an imac to learn colour correction on! I am just learning before using the proper setup at work.
However, I am trying to learn some basic colour correction stuff and obviously I need to hook up an external monitor.
The way I thought I would do this at home is via some form of dv cam attached to the firewire of my computer then playing out to the pal monitor.
But, as I am in the process of buying an imac which has a mini dvi out, I was wondering if I could use this to hook up a monitor for external monitoring.
Anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks in advance
    Stephen

It will not give you accurate color representation.

Do you mean it would not give accurate colour representations in either situations ie, using a firewire device out to an external monitor, or, using the dvi out on the mac?
