I’m stumped
I’m totally stumped….
All I want to do is a basic track and stabalize. I’ve done it with later versions of AE before, but at the moment all i have access to is AE 5.5. I Import the video, put it into my comp along with a .jpg…select the video, go to the layer meneu where you can select to view the tracker/stabilizer controls. Well, i’m unable to select it (it’s greyed out). All i can select is, Masks, or Anchor Point Paths. I’ve even tried with other video…and still no go.
How do I get the tracker/stabilizer controls up in AE 5.5?
HELP PLEASE.

“To track a moving region or object:
1. Select the motion footage layer you want to track and open it in a Layer window. You must have at least two layers in the Composition window.
Note: The Tracker/Stabilizer can track either an original motion footage layer or a precomposed layer that includes additional effects or other properties in the composition.
2. In the Layer window menu, choose Tracker/Stabilizer Controls.”the problem is when i go to choose the Tracker/Stabilizer Controls from the meneu…it’s greyed out and won’t let me select it.
I just don’t know what i’m missing. -
Did you open the clip in a Layer window?
(by double-clicking on the layer in the timeline)(guessing — I don’t have 5.5 installed any more)

Yep….then I get to the Layer menu by clicking the the little triangle in the upper right hand cornor of the layer window. The track option is there…i just can’t click on it.

Well, I’m stumped, since I don’t have 5.5 installed on anything.
Anybody else?
