  • Im Having Mic Problems During VO Recording With Premiere

This is my first time in trying to do VoiceOver work inside of Premiere (actually any kind of VO work).

So when Im inside of Preiere Pro, I have my Video Clips set up the way I want, and I click Enable Recodr/Play and do the VO into the Mic, I get Huge Echo as well as hardly able to hear the Mic.

I dont know whats causing the Echo since there are no effects being applied during the Recording. And I dont know why I can hardly hear anything when speaking into the Mic.

Not sure if its a Premiere Problem or a PC setup problem. I did go into “Open Voulme Control” and cranked up the Mic Level, but still cant hear any increase.

Anyone have a solution for a Noob?

    Thanks in advance.

Could be feedback…turn off your PC speakers and use headphones while doing VO.

Yeah, thats how Im already setup when recording VO. So its frustrating not knowing how to solve this problem. I know it has to be something simple that fixes the problem.

Is your mic plugged into the correct hole on the sound card? (not line-in)

Yeah. When Im on desktop, Im able to test that everything is working, meaning that the Mic is picking up my voice and Im able to adjust the volume as well.

But once Im inside of Premiere, theres Echo and hardly any volume.

I cant duplicate your problem…suggest dinking around in Premiere’s ASIO settings (Preferences>Audio Hardware) and changing the Input/Output Device setting (mine is Adobe Default Windows Sound 1.5).
