I’m getting closer…
Is this the way other designers have learned? I see something and want to replicate it… Last week I saw this short video while shopping online:

The “flipping” effect on the logo and product shot caught my eye, and I discovered how to do it by making my 2D art into a 3D layer and rotating quickly on the Y axis. But, how did they get the blur to follow the rotation? I’ve attached my own imitation to show my progress…

That’s called motion blur, and it simulates the effect of an object moving during the camera’s exposure of the frame. There’s a switch in Ae to enable it for individual layers (and for the comp viewer), and some comp settings to control its parameters.

Thanks! I was playing around with the blur Effects, but not getting what I wanted. It figures it was something simple…

I also had to switch back to the Classic 3D render instead of Cinema 4D… It’s perfect now!
