I’m back
Posted by Alan Lorence on July 9, 2013 at 8:37 pmYou’ll be glad to know that my wondertouch email address is working again, which means that I’ll be getting these COW posts again — sorry to leave everybody to fend for themselves for a while.
Are there any questions about updates and licensing, or has everything been cleared up?
Alan.

July 13, 2013 at 7:23 pmYeah, well, Alan, we wondered (pun-hint) what happened to you. 🙂
As to the new activation/PI version: I learned late about the new GenArts PI 3.0.9 (Windows version) here only because my PI stopped being able to be activated. But I neither ever got an FYI email nor saw any News statement at Woundertouch about this important change. So I emailed you at support, Amy answered and the upgrade was quite painless. I was just puzzled why it was so under-the-radar considering this was the first major update in a long time. An oversight or did I miss something?
One thing the FAQ on this new upgrade does not seem to directly address is to what extent the new PI is now 64-bit if at all (something I’ve kind of harped on over the years). Could you ‘splain how much of it is or is not 64-bit and what it affects under-the-hood?
Thanks

July 15, 2013 at 11:32 amWe didn’t make an announcement because it really only affects people who need to reactivate. It’s not a “major update”, mainly the licensing change and a few other bug fixes. It is not 64-bit.
Since the licensing change was the main issue (the old licensing was difficult to support and was giving lots of people trouble), we decided to let people know as needed — when they contacted us to reactivate.
Alan.
