illustrator into c4d
hi.
Sorry for this basic question. How do i import a illustrator file into cinema4d. ? I use c4d R11.5.. I just created a text in AI and saved it as normal Ai file. -

When you save it, you have to select to save it as an Illustrator v8 file. Then you should be able to bring it into C4D with no problems.

is that an option in illustrator cs4 to save it as a v8 file? Or do i name it my self?

It’s an option in all Illustrator versions to save as previous versions. First you select save, make sure you have Illustrator .ai selected (as opposed to .pdf) when you hit save you will be presented with options…see attached image.
