  Illustrator files in use on AE being modified

  Hello,

  I have been working on an AE project that was given to me by another person. I need to make some changes on some Ai files that are used within the project. The Ai files were made in version CS. I opened the Ai file, made the changes and saved it. All in CS5. I replaced the file on the original folder. I opened the project and it replaced the file but with a different scale and position. Should this happen? I replaced the old file with the new one in the project folder and all came back like it was. Is it a Ai version problem? Please help. Thanks.
