I’ve noticed that Illustrtator CS2 files get cropped based on the size of the artboard in After Effects. I tried to edit an existing Illustrator file in an AE comp using Ill. CS2, but once I saved it its now cropped based on the artboard (which is much smaller than the graphic) and has changed position. The nature of the animation is such that it must line up exactly where it was originally, but I can’t get AE to ignore the artboard size. Does anyone know of a setting I can change in Illustrator or AE? I have already re-saved the Illustrator file, so there’s no going back to the original. Even saving in an older format has not gotten rid of the cropping issue.

    Thanks for you help!

I got around the problem by making the artboard huge in the illustrator file, but I”m still interested to see if this setting can be ignored by AE or turned off in Illustrator. This issue has bitten me twice now…
