  Illustrator CS2 Font Problem

  I can’t figure this out.
  When I start Illustrator CS2, I get an error message during the initializing of the fonts that is not specific. I click ok and the program starts. When I go to the Type menu, there are several fonts that are listed but their listing is followed by a < name> and no font image. The font is installed properly and is available in other programs, PS CS2.How do I fix this. I have reinstalled AI CS2 several times but it still shows error and stops starting until I click Ok.

  Also how do I set a default font. I constantly have to select what I use as a default fone every time I enter text.
