iDVD and Compressor
I have spent hours today reading up on making the best quality dvd from my hdv footage. (pal)
End result was that I proposed to make a self contained quicktime file and burn it at professional quality in idvd. However after hours of reading many more articles on the web I am also toying with the idea of making a self contained quicktime movie and then compressing it in compressor first ( although I have never used compressor).
The advice after that is to burn the dvd in DVD studio pro. However I have FCP 5.1 which dosen’t have DVD studio pro in it and apparently the stand alone version ( if I could find one) won’t work with my intel imac. So that only leaves me with iDVD ( or toast ) I prefer to use iDVD because of the cool menus so my question is should I send my quicktime file to compressor and then to idvd or bypass compressor and go straight to iDVD.
Finally, on a short quicktime test I found that on my old television ( as opposed to my newer widescreen one) the image was squished. Is there something in idvd that will sort this when I burn the finished article
Many Thanksbrian paterson
