identical audio tracks don’t match from offline to online.
I encounter a problem when onlining music videos from a particular director/editor. We both use the same audio track, but when he exports a .mov for reference and i try to line up the onlined footage to match the offline reference the track lines up at the beginning of the timeline and by the time it gets to the end of the timeline it is 3 to 4 frames out of sync, though the waveforms appear to be identical. I actually went to his office and checked out his final cut system..everything seemed to be normal. I exported an .aif file from his system which matched the source audio. but when i exported a current settings audio only .mov
it matched his offline reference perfectly. I don’t know what to tell the guy. i only encounter this phenomenon from this one particular director/editor, and i’ve onlined 100s of videos!has anyone ever come across this? or know a fix other than using a current settings .mov from his system as my final audio, (converting that .mov to an .aif also causes the track to match the source rather than his reference.) it’s really frustrating…
Thanks!
