Good stuff ! Not sure if the boss will go for it hes not very into the cartoony stuff. Personally a talking cow would make me look, but Im not the boss !

One suggestion that is predominantly audio-only…
Begin with power music that drives and moves whatever text, imagery, or graphics you might have.
At a peak point in the music, cut music to 0, insert a long “mooo” with virtually any image over it. The change up in audio dynamic will grab the viewer’s attention immediately. It’s a nice shock effect you can get away with once, sometimes twice.

You may look at the corporate videos on my website for opening ideas. I like to use attention grabbing or interesting 15 to 30 second intros in my videos.

Action spy music (mission impossible meets james bond)with
Extreme close up of milk being poured from one container to another, manipulated with a silver shaft(spoon handle)
then a brown mixture being added in slow-mo.(chocolate)
the container lifting slowly etc…
All the intricacies involved….Video effects, filters, color shifts
Do a little Willie Wonka candy creation,Rube Goldburgh type stuff
then a pull away to see a red-headed 5 yr old lowering a glass of tasty chocolate milk with a big chocolate milk stain around her lips. she licks her lips and cracks a big smile with two missing front teeth.
Voila! Everything is not as it seems and smiles around.

The object is to give the impression of large machinery and product being manipulated, moved from machine to machine, progressing and confusing the viewer to what is really going on. eventually give it away as a young childs perspective of making a tall cool glass of chocolate milk.
The metaphor…Getting the milk is relative to the consumer.
The end result is getting the milk this beautiful child ,getting that irresistable smile that no parent can be without.

I bet you’ll get a response that will loosen any stuffed shirt.

That is an excellant idea and would really work for one of our adverts. Really good imagination Zipedit. Going to pitch that to the boss.

At the minute though Im looking for a 5 – 8 second opening to a dvd that shows customers each parlour and how they are used.

There are a couple of quotes such as “MAKE MILKING EASY” and “BRINGS THE FUTURE TO FARMING TODAY”

I would like for the begining to portrait a ‘worldwide’ company, without it being too cliche (No spinning globe!!)

I have lots of footage of customers talking about company, maybe theres something there.

Im lost on this I have tried so many different ideas that are usable but I dont think would make you be interested in watching the dvd.

Yes I see…
the globe…Cliche’ Yes…
However it does symbolize “global” as we know it.
How about getting a large globe and film it pretty close (so you cant see the tippy top)..while it is spinning fairly slowly at about a 2 second revolution…. then slowly pour about a gallon of elmers glue over the top.
The result is cliche’ with an unexpected punch.
The glue (as opposed to milk) will slowly run down making interesting runs and evetually encompass the whole globe with big luscious drips.
Dark blue space like backdrop and lit more on one side than the other…for shadows, sun simulation.

takes about 10- 12 seconds or 5-6 spins. then zoom into white glue that becomes you first transition into presentation.
“Blah blah blah.. got cow..got global distribution ?!?!”

I tend to shoot “real effects” as opposed to predictable CG store bought animations
Its cool because where else could you get something like that.

CLICHE’…WITH A ONE TWO PUNCH.

Here’s an off-the-wall intro even before Zipedit’s globe suggestion.
Start with a close-up of a farmer milking a cow by hand.
He/she turns the udder towards the camera (protected by a sheet of glass/plexiglass) so that the spray covers the shot.
Use a luminance key so that, as the milk drips down, the globe (or whatever shot you want to use) is revealed.
Another way would be to have the camera zoom into the bucket so that it fills the shot and then transition into your next one.
