    ice freeze and shatter

    hi all,

    i have animated a thermometer and the mercury animated to -20 degree C. now i need to stimulate thermometer freezes to ice and than crack/shatter it.

    how to i turn the freeze the therm and crack/shatter it?

    To freeze them, i’d make a ‘frozen’ still of the thermometer in photoshop and use gradient wipe to make it appear.

    Then to shatter it, have you tried…um…Shatter? 🙂 You can control the moment of shatter by using the depth setting in Force1.
