Hi everyone. I’m looking to recreate the frost and ice covered lense look that you see in the intro on the Deadliest Catch show on the Discovery Channel. Any ideas? Thanks.

thought I’d like to see a clip or still there are several ways I think you could do this. 1 is with a displacement map and a CC masked adjustment layer. The other, and easier in my opinion would be with a 3d app. the texture and surface abilities of an app like cinema 4d could do this in much less time than anything created in AE

another way you could do this is to look for photoshop brushes of ice. then go in to photoshop and make a transparent image with the ice brushes as a border or on the side. take this and put it on top of ur layers in AE on top of the video u r trying to make have this effect. But if u r doing this with a camera in AE but this layer on top of the camera layer but keep 3d switch off. so when the camera moves it should move with it.
